University of Exeter / PG Cert Ed Post-16 Photography (2005-2007)

Preferring the craft of working with film, Amy Grubb has been using her medium and large format cameras to document individuals and communities whose lives lie on the fringes of society.

Deeply concerned with the individual experience, her camera is used as a tool to access and subsequently unveil the rich and subtle layers of humanity.

Gaining a first in her degree, and in the same year winning 1st place in the Terry O’Neil Awards, her work has been exhibited in group shows on a number of occasions and published in the RPS Journal, January 11 edition.

Amy has also taught photography in various settings and was involved in teaching newly arrived refugees as part of a digital storytelling project through the charity PhotoVoice, and to young offenders at the Atkinson Unit in Exeter, Devon.
